French Minimum Wages in the Transport Sector

Some misleading information about a new increase in the French minimum wage in the transport sector was posted on the internet a few weeks ago, creating some confusion for our customers posting their drivers in France.

These bits of information are referring to an agreement signed on March 6th, 2018 and applicable since April 1st, 2018. Now, as per confirmation received by Move Expert directly from the office of Labour Law at the French Transport Ministry, this agreement does not apply to foreign companies posting their drivers to France.

In fact, the agreement of March 6th was signed only by some of the associations part of the French transport sector but it is not, as of today, extended to all transport companies. Only French companies which are part of the signing associations are subject to the new agreement and, as a consequence, to the new increased minimum wages while foreign companies remain subject to minimum wages as set by the agreement signed on April 7th, 2017 and extended to all transport companies.
