Germany is periodically announcing changes in the minimum wage.
Each new year on 1st of January and on 1st of July International transport companies should double check the latest applicable rates and start to apply new ones while counting their drivers monthly salaries for the time spent in these countries.
The new applicable rates starting 1st of January 2022:
Further to the Minimum Wage commission’s plan to regularly increase the minimum wage in Germany until July 2022, the next increase will take place from 1st January 2022 and will set the new minimum wage to 9.82 € per hour:
As of 1 July 2021: EUR 9.60
As of 1 January 2022: EUR 9.82
As of 1 July 2022: EUR 10.45
Transport companies will need to ensure that the hourly wage paid to their drivers for the work hours spent in Germany from 01/01/2022 will reach the amount of 9.82 EUR.
