The minimum wage in France (SMIC) will be increased by 2.65% as of 1 May 2022

Firstly, the benchmark of the consumer price index in France increased by 2.65% between November 2021 and March 2022, therefore, according to the French law, the minimum wage in France will increase by the same proportion, i.e. by 2.65% on 1 May 2022.

In France, the purchasing power of workers is protected by an automatic revaluation mechanism enshrined in the law, which ensures that the minimum wage grows at least as fast as inflation. So, with this increase, the gross hourly minimum wage in France will increase from 10.57 euros to 10.85 euros when the gross monthly minimum wage for a full-time working employee will increase from 1603.12 euros to 1645.58 euros.

Hourly wage for workers in the road transport of GOODS:

Under the French collective agreement, drivers of lorries and articulated vehicles with a total mass exceeding 3,5 t, engaged in international transport are considered equivalent to group 7 with a coefficient of 150M. The minimum wage for these drivers should be 10,85 € / gross / hour.

In conclusion, according to the national collective bargaining agreement for road transport, the hourly pay for workers in the road transport sector and auxiliary transport activities must be increased according to the years spent in the company: +2%, +4%, +6% and +8% after respectively 2, 5, 10 and 15 years of service in the company.

less than (3) hours: 10.40 € prime/day
