New minimum wage in Denmark from March 1st, 2021, for your posted drivers...

The Danish Ministry of Transport issued a new executive order on Minimum hourly salary’ conditions for foreign transport companies doing cabotage and combined transport activities by freight or bus. The executive order came into force on 1 March 2021 and stipulates how much a foreign truck or bus’ driver must be paid while driving in Denmark.

The Minimum hourly salary rates for remuneration of drivers performing cabotage or the road part of combined transport activities are regulated annually in accordance with the agreed local rate regulations of freight and bus driving fields.

New Minimum hourly salary’ rates are applicable since March 1, 2021:

The minimum hourly rate for remuneration of drivers who perform cabotage with goods or the road part of combined transport is DKK 168.56 (around 22.67 EUR)

The minimum hourly rate for remuneration of drivers who perform bus cabotage is DKK 168.31 (around 22.63 EUR)

The minimum hourly rate for remuneration of drivers who perform tourists driving is DKK 173.65 (around 23.35 EUR)

What you should remember?

All new operations made from 1st March 2021 will have to be paid by applying the new minimum wage. All declarations made up to 28/02/2021 can  be paid with the older one rate.

Remember that the rules of correct remuneration of posted drivers in Denmark must be applied when companies carry out Cabotage with goods where the total permissible total weight of the motor vehicle or lorry exceeds 3,500 kg, bus cabotage or the road part of combined transport in Denmark.

Important! The grace period is going to end on 1st of April 2021! As announced earlier, Denmark requires to report all cabotage and road part of combined transport operations in Denmark since 1st of January 2021. The grace period was set till 1st of April 2021 when all companies were just consulted for not having right documents. After the end of the grace period transport companies will be fined for not registering their operations in Danish system.
