The European roadside inspection campaign in Europe “Truck & Bus” started on Monday, October 11

The road controls action named “Trucks & Bus” in Europe, organized by the European Road Transport Police, has started and will focus mainly on trucks above 3, 5 tons.

The roadside checks will be performed by the European Road Transport Police starting today, Monday 11 October 2021, and will continue until Sunday 17 October.

The European campaign is conducted in 27 European countries, namely: Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, France, Finland, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Lithuania, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Swietzerland, UK, Estonia, Italy.

The services of ROADPOL will check if drivers have mandatory documents inside their truck and if they comply with the rules concerning driving and resting time. Specifically, authorities will check tachographs for compliance with Regulation 561/2006 defining drivers’ work and rest periods.

Therefore, it is recommended to pay attention in respect of the rules regarding driving time and resting time and the use of tachographs. Police will control the correct use/ management of tachographs in order to determine if they were some manipulations or not, as well as cargo and transport documents, for instance a letter CMR.

In addition, technical condition of trucks, dimensions and weight of trucks will also be checked during this operation.
