Traffic jams hit Channel ports as French customs officials strike over Brexit

IMPORTANT INFORMATION 05/03/2019

Dear clients,

Long traffic jams formed since Monday at French Channel ports after customs officers staged a work-to-rule strike to press demands for extra staff and more pay ahead of Britain’s departure from the EU.

The terms of Britain’s departure from the EU are still being worked out ahead of a Brexit deadline of March 29, although an extension to that date is
now seen as likely.

Due to a heavy traffic volume on the Port of Calais, the deviation for lorries has been activated this morning. Thanks for using the dedicated itinerary.

A16 from Belgium to Calais must divert at exit 57 on to the N225. Same applies A25 to divert at exit 13 on to D948/D642 and A26. IMPORTANT INFORMATION 05/03/2019
