The situation in the world regarding the COVID-19 pandemic changes very rapidly. In order to keep all our clients with the newest information we are sharing the updates of the Curfew rules and additional actions needed regarding the Covid -19. Please be aware that this information might be changed if new restrictions or rules will come up.

SPAIN: Curfew

According to the last official information the driver do not have to provide a specific document regarding Curfew for doing transport operations in Spain (crossing the country or loading/unloading operations) . 

Except the situations when the driver is doing other activities: sleeping, eating, going for a walk during his rest time during the announced Curfew hours from 23h00 to 06h00 in all Spanish territory. 

The documents are prepared for each region or city separately. For example, these documents are needed to fill:

In the region of Navarra  

In Aragón

Exempt: for the Spanish region of La Rioja, there is an obligation to have this document at all times no matter the time. 

Update of 30/10/2020: Catalonia has announced that a partial lockdown will be in force from Friday 30th October at 6.00 to Monday November 1st at 6.00. Bars and restaurants will remain shut, a measure adopted two weeks ago, although food delivery and takeaway services will still be permitted. Its borders with France and the rest of Spain will be closed to regular traffic, but truck drivers may continue their journeys into or through the region.

Update of 05/11/2020: New curfews per region in Spain

  • From 00:00 to 06:00: Extremadura, Asturias, Madrid, Cantabria y Comunidad Valenciana.
  • From 23:00 to 06:00: Castilla-La Mancha, Murcia, Andalucía, Aragón, Navarra, País Vasco, Islas Baleares y Galicia.
  • From 22:00 to 06:00: Cataluña y Castilla y León.
  • From 22:00 to 05:00: La Rioja.

The road transport sector is consider as an exception but they need to show the “mobility certificate” if they have to go to dinner / hotels during these hours

ITALY: Curfew

There are several cities that have announced a Curfew time in Italian territory:

Lombardy’s curfew is active from 23:00 PM to 5:00 AM. It begun from 22nd of October 2020 and will last until at least 13th of November 2020.

In the city Campania, the Curfew is from 23:00 PM to 5:00 AM from 23rd of October 2020.

In the Italian region of Lazio, the curfew is from 00:00 AM to 5:00 AM for a period of 30 days from 00:00 AM 23th of October 2020.

Update of 05/11/2020:

The new Dpcm will come into force on 06.11.202 until 03.12.2020 with the anti-Covid measures, which divides Italy into three risk areas: ​[11:44] Manuela

Curfew:  for Yellow area and Orange area 22.00 – 5:00

Lockdown:  Red area

Yellow area: Abruzzo, Basilicata, Campania, Emilia-Romagna, Friuli-Venezia-Giulia, Lazio, Liguria, Marche, Molise, Sardegna, Toscana, Umbria, Veneto and the two autonomous provinces Bolzano and Trento
Orange area: Puglia & Sicilia
Red Area: Calabria, Lombardia, Piemonte and Valle d’Aosta

The road transport sector is an exception only self-declaration is required during curfew time for meals ( highway restaurant ) / hotel during these hours and in always the RED AREA.

FRANCE: The National Quarantine is announced from 00:00 AM 30th of October 2020

According to the last information the driver has to prepare just an International travel certificate for doing transport operations in France. Press here to find the document.

For other actions which the driver is doing in France and it is not related with crossing country or loading or unloading operations  it is needed to fill this form:

ATTENTION because of the National Quarantine in France that was announced again from the midnight 30th of October there will be added corrected form. Please check the latest information here.

BELGIUM: Curfew

According to the last information the driver has to prepare just a certificate of crossing the border of Belgium for doing transport operations in Belgium. Press here to find the document.

Belgium has a curfew between 00:00 and 05:00 since 19th of October 2020. The transport sector is exempt from this, but must be able to demonstrate that it is an essential movement. When a driver is in Belgium for more than 48 hours, he or she must complete this Public Health Passenger Locator Form.

UNITED KINGDOM: Notification regarding Covid-19

Drivers of goods vehicles and other employees of community licence holders for the international carriage of goods need to complete the Passenger locator form up to 48 hours before before crossing the UK border. The driver will not need to self-isolate.

Also the driver will have to show that his travel is part of his job, for example a letter from the employer, a consignment note or his operator’s licence.

GREECE: Curfew

The official curfew is announced from 0:30 AM to 5:00 AM in the orange and red zones (also in Attica and Thessaloniki) of Greece. The map is available here

Truck drivers must have an appropriate certificate which needs to show that his travel is part of his job – no model has been prepared.

AUSTRIA: additional actions regarding Covid-19

For doing transport operations in Austria , there are those rules regarding Covid-19:

If the driver enters Austria from the country named in Appendix A of the Entry Ordinance (Federal Law Gazette II No. 445/2020) and have stayed in that country for the last ten days, he do not need self declaration and no Quarantine is required.

If the country from where the driver enters Austria is not listed in Appendix A, a medical certificate about a negative molecular biological SARS-CoV-2 test must be presented (or ten-day quarantine with the possibility of free testing).

If the entry is from a risk area, a test is required or a quarantine without a test. The molecular biological SARS Cov-2 test have to be initiated within 48 hours.

NETHERLANDS: no self declaration

However, the Dutch authorities decided that all catering establishments must be closed at 10 p.m. At 9 p.m., new customers cannot be served. This measure associated with the coronavirus pandemic also applies to roadside restaurants but the toilets will be available around the clock, according to the Dutch transport portal bigtruck.nl.
